Western lessons

We offer Western beginner  lessons for ages four years to adult. The first skill taught is horse safety and proper brushing techniques. We work on learning different aids, and how to communicate with the horse while you are riding.

Depending on age and ability, we will progress to riding on the lead line, and conduct activities that will strengthen core muscles and improve balance.

Lessons are a full hour per person and can include group lessons when you are ready.

We understand that every child is different, and that attention levels vary depending on age. Please contact Lynn to set up a personalized lesson!

The Western camps for the typical kids are Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm. Friday will be 9am till our horse show at noon. Kids go home after the show. Last year our theme was “Knights”. We built and colored our own shields and chose our own super powers to infuse the shields with. We practiced how to be real knights on our own horses and were responsible for the care and cleaning of our own horse every day. We rode bareback, learned about horse anatomy and horse health. Throughout the week, we also practiced and designed a horse show that we put on for the parents on Friday that the kids design themselves by improving team building skills and imagination.

A CPR/First Aid certified camp director will be present for every camp.

No child will be allowed to participate without a completely filled out camp packet.
