"Dustin's Place" is named after my son with Down Syndrome whom has always had an interest in horses, but had finally found his true love and guardian angel in a little old Grey Shetland, named Nemo.
Brecht Stables & Dustin's Place is now located in Alpharetta, GA. in north Fulton county.

Volunteering

Programs such as Dustin’s Place would not be able to run successfully if it was not for the volunteers.2

You do not need to have any experience with horses to be able to volunteer, but you must not be afraid of horses. If a person has experience with horses, they feel more comfortable with walking in front or next to the horse.

If you would rather stay out of the barn, we could also use your office or fund raising talents.

Volunteering seminars are held every third Saturday of the month at 3pm. It will normally take only a full hour depending on the amount of people attending the seminar.

Please call or email me if you interested in attending a volunteering seminar.

Thank you to our biggest volunteer, Lorraine Tetter of Flying Dog Pet Sitting. Please see her website if you are going out of town and would rather keep your pooch at home instead of putting him in a kennel. Flying Dog

Donations

Brecht Stables & Dustin’s Place are always accepting donations.

If you have a horse that you think would be perfect for the program, we would like to use him or her on a trail basis of a month to 6 weeks to see if the horse will work for us. Your horse must be current on all shots and coggins before it is allowed on the property. You are also responsible for all feed and vet and farrier services while the horse is in our care. The good thing though is that all of our horses stay out 24/7 and there is plenty of grass.
